Sharnie came to us via the Stourbridge RSPCA in the summer of 2009. Sadly, owing to her original owner's failing health, we were asked if we could help to find a new home for this sweet little girl who had not seen very much of the outside world.
Her coat was badly matted and, before she came to us, she had been to the vets for spaying and they decided to shave off all her fur at the same time. Fortunately, her coat has now grown back and, one year on, it would be difficult to recognise her as the same skitty, under-socialised rough collie who we had to carry from the car to the house as she had never ventured out of her former owner's garden.
Thanks to her experienced adoptive owners, Margaret and Mick, Sharnie is very confident now and has come on leaps and bounds. She walks well on the lead and enjoys journeys in the car. She lives with another rough collie, KC, and a cat, who we must add stays well out of Sharnie's way!
Sharnie's owners have recently moved nearer to us so we will be seeing a lot more of them and meeting up for walks. Thank you, Margaret and Mick, for your patience and perseverance - everybody who has been involved in Sharnie's welfare is so pleased to know she is doing so well.
